Is Sarah Jessica Parker teasing us or is Sex & The City 3 really on the way?

After taking last week's MET Gala red carpet by storm with her China: Through The Looking Glass inspired costume complete with Phillip Treacy show-stopping headpiece, SJP is hinting at her next major move. The 50-year-old actress took to her Instagram yesterday with a picture (and caption) that ignited rumors the third installment of the SATC film franchise is underway.

The captions reads: "Well. I guess the cat's out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I'm under a strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj."

SJP's fans on social media went into a frenzy and bombarded her with questions, while media outlets immediately began investigating. E! News reached out to Warner Bros., which distributed the first two films, and the company denied any connection between Parker's Instagram and a third movie: "The post is not in relation to the Sex & The City property."

While SJP remains mysteriously quiet, co-conspirator Michael Patrick King, director, writer and producer for the HBO series and producer on both films, told Entertainment Weekly last year there's one more story to tell.

“Sarah Jessica and I both know what that final chapter is. That doesn’t mean it will or should be told, but I do think there’s one story left. There’s four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven’t even been written yet."
