Have you ever wondered what Marie Antoinette would have looked like as a 90’s punk rockstar, a summer beach babe, or a casual sportif chick? Well Karl Lagerfeld mostly certainly has and he recently brought his imagination to life in his latest collection for legendary fashion house Chanel. The label’s 2012/2013 resort show was held at the palace of Versailles in Paris last week and featured pastel hair, makeup, and clothing, menswear inspired denim, chunky platform sneakers, and the Chanel logo placed as beauty marks on the models’ faces. Overall, it was a variety of modern themes all mixed with the best of royal 18th century style, including brocades, ruffles, and plenty of gilt. Click the link below to watch the show.
