What’s all this talk about film?

We’re sure you loved the Dior Cruise ’16 Fashion Show feature we covered.  But do you know why the Cannes Festival was the optimum location for this fashion showcase?  Well we are here to keep you in the know.  The Cannes Festival is actually the Cannes Film Festival, but better known as Festival de Cannes.   Each year the French Association of the International Film Festival groups together the Festival de Cannes. As the General Delegate, Thierry Frémaux, explains, "The Festival de Cannes is a celebration of cinematographic art. We exist to showcase the new writing, new genres and new visual innovations of our time. Every year in May, Cannes gives a sort of snapshot - both ephemeral and lasting, when one adds up the years - of what constitutes the art of cinema."

Wow! Were you missing out all of this amazing cinematography? No worries, you’re well aware now of this annual must attend festival, which this year is being held May 13-24, 2015.  This year also marks the 68th Festival de Cannes, and like any great festival or awards ceremony… There’s a red carpet!  Check out our favorites from the first Red Carpet event of the 68th Festival de Cannes.
