Who's That Girl? SZA is Trending Now!

When one has Vogue giving them props and they've also been the opening act for Coldplay then it's only obvious that there is something special about that creature (crea: to create) . The orange haired, freckle faced beauty in the photo above is the well-known singer on the rise known as SZA. To put it simply, the doll has the voice of an angel and the spunk of a rocker. I wouldn't dare give her music a genre or category as that would likely offend her due to the uniqueness of her sound, but I challenge you to listen to some of her tunes while you're painting, driving, jogging, or even winding down before bed. It's a melodic mood with a frowzy twist, yet also very difficult to explain in words.

SZA's real name is Solana Rowe with even a birth title that sounds harmonious. She is also affectionately known as the first lady of Top Dawg Entertainment, which she shares with label mates: Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q. Her story is that of a rebel soul with a love for music as she grew up listening to artist such as Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, and Wu Tang Clan (per her Complex article in 2013).

Her music beseeches reverberations that are both admirable and firm in tune. The sounds are also fanciful, inviting, and comforting, which is unique during a time where most music sounds quite enigmatic. SZA is unapologetic in her assertiveness and that is ultimately a refreshing trait for someone that is so young and in the industry of music as both an artist and songwriter. Take a listen below and I'll be amazed if you don't love it. However, I'm almost sure you will.

Janet Jackson World Tour-2015

From the hit 1989 single Rhythm Nation, to the 1998 hit single Together Again; Janet Jackson has just announced her “Unbreakable World Tour”.  This will be the first tour since her “Number Ones Tour” in 2011. The 49-year old singer is preparing for her long overdue world tour, beginning at the end of August.

Janet Jackson is the youngest of her family, sister of The Jackson Five, and older brother, the late Michael Jackson.  The Jackson singer, songwriter, and actress, is known lyrically for her own innovative music to her sophisticated stage shows.  She has been a major figure in the pop culture for over 25 years having sold over 160 million records; she has proven that she is truly unbreakable.

Janet’s “Unbreakable World Tour” is set to begin in Vancouver, Canada and travel nationwide with more concert dates being added later. Along with the announcement of her up and coming world tour, she also is set to release a new album, the first in seven years this fall with her new single “No Sleep”.  Her anticipating album is available for pre-order and the “Unbreakable World Tour” tickets are on sale now.

Are You Following Ugo Mozie? You Totally Should Be!

If you haven’t heard of Ugo Mozie then I take it you’re either living under a rock, at adult summer camp with no social media access, or on a desert yoga retreat (yes, they do those!).  Nevertheless, Mozie’s instagram gives us all a taste of the couture life, confirmation that hard works pays off, and reaffirms that remaining humble leads to a more fruitful life. Here are a few reasons why he’s such a lovely fellow to follow…

1. Youthful Inspiration: Thankfully, technology has kicked the idea that inspiration must only come from the elder and more experienced, as Mozie is only 23 years of age with a knack for inspiration that encourages others and exposes a diverse cultural side of life many would never experience. He tactfully shares his journey’s around the world, but doesn’t shy away from quotes of inspiration to uplift the perusing followers spirit.

2. The Ugo Mozie Collection: Name the classic fashion trend that is now an undeniable fashion accessory: the Fedora. The Fedora, is a timeless article of clothing that practically goes with any outfit or mood. Mozie’s collection has not only been seen on prominent celebrities such as Beyonce and Justin Bieber, but it’s also available for the everyday chic connoisseur of fine things. If you haven’t purchased from the collection I would definitely hurry up, as many of the Fedora’s sell out quickly.

3. Artistic Expression: Every once in awhile there comes along a person that truly understands how to translate art into life. Ugo Mozie is one of those people. From his post to his poignant attention to detail in his clothing it is clear that he can translate art into imagery, which then becomes conversation, and that my friend is what you call a gift.

The Makings of a Super Star

Everyone has a Dream Career that they envision as a child, that one thing that makes them extremely happy and they borderline obsess about. Becoming a Singer/Dancer was that dream turned reality for 18 year old Miami native Teenear. This Jamerican (Jamaican/American) beauty discovered her gift for music at age 3; the soulful songstress began singing in local forums such as church and pageants while getting her "feet wet" as a performer. Her first noteworthy show as a high school student was at a Miami talent showcase where she sang Rhianna’s popular hit “Stay”.  This performance was one of the major catalysts that gave her the push to pursue music as a career, but it wasn’t really complete until she decided to post a video of herself singing “Stay” on YouTube, which garnered massive attention and sparked the determination she needed to become a singer.

Fast Forward 2 years later Teenear has one of the hottest new summer singles out of Miami, entitled  “Friday Night” featuring Hip Hop wonder boy Sage the Gemini . This summer anthem is heating up radio airwaves and positioning this up and comer for a musical takeover. Teenear, who is still working hard to carve out her own lane in the music business, soliciting super star producer Jim Jonsin and Miami record label Slip-N-Slide Records as the vehicle to drive her success as a recording artist. 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards

Last night was the star studded 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards. I like to think of it as "Fashion Prom"-with the most fashionably and publicly renowned stars show out and show up on the red carpet.

The annual event recognizes the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear, and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision, and lifetime achievement.

Nominations for each award category are submitted by The CFDA Fashion Awards Guild, an invitation only network comprised of top fashion retailers, journalists, stylists, influencers and the 450+ member designers of the CFDA.  The nominees, as well as recipients of the honorary awards are ratified by the CFDA Board of Directors. Lisa Nicole-Cloud talks “Married to Medicine”

The upcoming season premiere of the hit Bravo show “Married to Medicine” is set to air on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 9:00 PM, and there seems to be no shortage of drama this season from these Atlanta women. Fluff got a chance to get a one on one interview with one of the stars of this Hit show, Lisa Nicole-Cloud, who is the wife of emergency physician Dr. Darren Naugles and a powerhouse in her own right. Lisa Nicole is a renowned Author, Direct Sales Trainer, Business-Success Coach, Speaker, Philanthropist and Clothing Designer, Oh and did I mention a mother of two beautiful children. With an ample amount of things on this Atl Divas plate, she also finds the time to spearhead the 5th Annual Conference for the “Women’s Empowerment Network” , which she founded as an outlet in support of and for women who are looking to grow personally, professionally, financially and spiritually. WEN has begun intensifying its reach by branching out into a 6 city tour, which is set to hit New York, New Orleans, Miami, Raleigh, Boston and California this summer.

Lisa Nicole often prides herself of promoting positivity and supporting “Girl Power” but this season of “Married to Medicine” test her will for being an advocate for Women’s empowerment and amicable alliances. During our interview she touched on some of the conflict that ensues between herself and one of her notoriously confrontational cast-mates, Quad Webb-Lunceford.

“The one cast member that builds her storyline around controversy, she came for me”. When Lisa Nicole was asked if she thinks that she was specifically targeted by Quad this season, her response was, “Every season she always has some kind of conflict with someone that keeps her relevant in her mind, and so usually her conflict is with a person that you would least expect her to be in conflict with, so this season it was me. There are certain things that you just don’t do, you don’t mess with someone’s family, you don’t mess with their children, you don’t mess with their spouse and when I say mess with them, I mean if you go after them and attack them and things that you say on camera. It’s kind of like an unspoken rule, we don’t do that because those individuals have nothing to do with our contract. So she went for my family and that’s a “No fly zone” for me, if you mess with my family, you are going to get a reaction”. What that reaction was is something that we’ll have to wait to see once the season airs.

When asked if there was any lesson learned through her conflict with Quadd, she resonded “Hurt People, Hurt People”. Lisa Nicole is an optimistic who says that “To stay and dwell in a negative situation is not healthy or good, and you know when thing come to a head, you have to figure out the lesson you are supposed to learn in the situation and move on in a positive and productive way, and that’s what I did this season”. Despite the drama with herself and Quadd, Lisa Nicole makes it clear that this Season of “Married to Medicine” is REAL and there are a lot of personal and authentic situations that each cast member will reveal about their lives and daily struggles.

Over the Memorial Day Weekend, Lance Gross married his gorgeous fiancé Rebecca Jefferson in Beverly Hills.  Lance popped the question to his longtime girlfriend last year.  They are the proud parents of their beautiful 6-month-old daughter, Berkeley Brynn Gross.  Their wedding was elegant, but most importantly, filled with love.  From the images posted on their social media accounts we can see that these two are #inlove.  We wish them a long, healthy, and prosperous marriage.
