Red Carpet Fashion: BET Awards 2015

Last night's 15th Annual BET Awards 2015 was one of the most fun shows in years and the fashion on the red carpet definitely reflected that.

From Zendaya's flirty Studio 54-inspired short number to Bryshere "Yazz" Gray from Empire's lime green tuxedo jacket, summer styles were out in full force. There were some missteps though (what was all that dark and dreary black on a hot California day?) so let's take a look at some of the best and worst on the night.

We just gave black the thumbs down but the only one who got it right was Kelly Rowland. The graceful beauty looked stunning in this high-neck mini with feathered sleeves and bottom. Slicked down hair and a classic smoky eye and nude lip completed the look.

Nicki Minaj often opts for a Morticia-like look as she did last night, a tight-fitted black floor-length dress that does look better in person than on camera. Her boo Meek Mill (whose album dropped today and who's obviously head over heels for his new love) got it right for the season, rocking a Miami-inspired white polo and jeans with designer sneakers.

Christina Milian, we love. This gold and white look was perfect for the red carpet.

Talk about rip the runway! Currently heavy on the promotional trail for their upcoming new talk show, Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe score "Best Dressed Couple" easily.

We love how she's unafraid to tower over everyone else, we love how her and her stylist get it right (and age-appropriate) every time and we especially love all she stands for. Zendaya is everything.

Pre-show performer Machine Gun Kelly got it right with this black rock star number paired with a perfect red blazer and simple gold chain (not to mention newly bleached-blonde hair).

Naturi Naughton won "Most Heartwarming Story" with a dress made by East Orange, NJ high school student Kyemah McEntyre. Naturi, who grew up in the same town, immediately reached out to Kyemah after she saw her homemade, African-inspired prom dress become an Internet sensation. She requested she make her outfit (which was only her second time doing so) for the awards.

BET Chief Executive Officer Debra Lee hit it on the head with this beautiful coral gown, which accentuated her glowing skin and fashion-forward short cut perfectly. Simple jewels and make-up completed the look.

We love "Uncle" Charlie Wilson and thus he can do no wrong! He looked dapper in a baroque satin blazer with champagne-colored satin pants and simple black shoes and matching black tee underneath.
