Leigh Lezark has been featured in countless fashion magazines for her iconic style. This international DJ is known for her edgy yet classy look and can usually be seen rocking a jet black bob. Interesting fact: Ms. Lezark has been dying her own hair since she was 10. She recently experimented with blonde hair, but quickly decided that it wasn't for her and went back to black. Which do you like better?

You might recognize Hot 97.9's own DJ Princess Cut from our Grand Opening Celebration in Atlanta. She's a known trendsetter, usually seen rocking visually stimulating costumes while on the 1's and 2's. Her creative style has been noted by media outlets all over. She has been featured on the cover of Mandatory Business magazine and was highlighted on VIBE.com as a coveted VIBE Vixen. 

May Kwok is a New York based DJ who is no stranger to beauty and fashion. She has spun records at both New York and Paris Fashion Week. Kwok just went through a dramatic hair transformation of her own. She cut off her long black tresses and went blonde. But, this is only a small step towards her ideal hair color, platinum! 

DJ Kiss performs everywhere from charity events to high profile fashion events. Underneath the headphones she keeps her silky hair pressed to perfection. She has been given a “Personal Style Award” by Elle Magazine and is listed as one of Vanity Fair’s top 10 best-dressed female DJs. Milano Di Rouge

Indique ambassador and creative consultant, Milan Rouge, hosted an event on Sunday December 15th to celebrate the anniversary of her clothing line. The event was held at the James Oliver Gallery in Philadelphia and include, music, live performances from Philadelphia natives, and a fashion show to conclude the event. Milan, who is wearing the white Milano shirt in the picture below, wore Indique’s Tahitian curl during this event. She blew out the hair and curled it rather than wearing its loose wave texture. Tahitian curl looks great either way. Never forget hair is a part of fashion!

Great Reads: Hair Story

Hair Story: Untangling Roots of Black Hair in America, takes a great look inside of the evolution of African American culture as it relates to hair. The book is based off of a cultural study done by authors Ayana D. Byrd and Lori L. Tharps that explores expressions of style and personality through a woman's crowning glory.  The revised and updated version of this 2001 release features a new foreword by Melissa Harris-Perry and profound personal stories from women transitioning into natural hair care.  Hair Story is a great stocking stuffer for the budding hairnista on your list!

Old Man Winter will be knocking on our doors in a couple of weeks and we all know that with dipping temperatures comes dry skin and hair. Try this quick tip to remedy your dry skin this season:

• Draw a bath by adding 2 cups skim milk to warm - not hot - water
• Soak for 15 minutes
• Pat skin dry and apply a milk and honey cream to boost the benefits.

And voila! Instantly smoother, moisturized skin.
