Natural hair Youtube vlogger, Jessica or "Mahogany Curls", has inspired us with her perfectly coiled mane. Although her hair is natural, you can definitely use her techniques when styling your Indique install. Achieve this spiral set by using large perm rods and minimal styling gel.
The stigma that natural hair isn’t professional is slowly changing with more women rocking their curls and coils to work. Use your imagination to create unique styling that are sleek and perfect for the office. Pin straight is no longer the only way to go.
To create an effortless Faux Hawk like the one pictured above follow these tips:
1) If adding extra hair use one of our textured pieces including Organic Curl, Coil Curl or Deep Wave. Add to your hair by having your stylist sew in a couple tracks primarily in the middle of your hair. Or opt to make your own clip in pieces and clip in to add length and volume.
2) Once additional hair is added, smooth out the sides of your hair using a light styling gel and boar bristled brush.
3) Using one hand to hold one side back tightly, use the other hand to bobby pin that section in place. If you find that your bobby pins aren’t doing a good enough job of holding the hair, try criss-crossing them to make an X shape that will hold the hair more securely.
4) Repeat same step on opposite side.
5)To complete the look, fluff out the hair in the middle and spritz it with water if you need to revive your curls.

It can be a hard task making the hair transition from relaxed to natural. Luckily Carol’s Daughter heard the hardships of those embarking on the natural hair journey and created the Transitioning Kit. The kit is specified for the three transitional types including “Big Chopper”, “Protective Styler” and “Long Grow Out”.
The three step kit is designed to offer solutions to the 3 problems transitioners face: product build-up, scarred scalp & breakage at the points of demarcation. For more information visit here. For those who are already natural the kit works just as well at conditioning your hair and maintaining a healthy scalp. Happy growing ladies!
