Laquan Smith's Dark Summer Spring/Summer Line
Indique's favorite, Laquan Smith, defined minimalistic chic when he debuted his Dark Summer Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Line Tuesday during NYFW. Laquan says his line was inspired by rebirth and new beginnings. His line included high end sportswear that took a play on modern style with a twist of something new and fresh. We loved his play on textures and fabrics; mixing alligator and crocodile details on jackets and sweatpants, embossed leathers, denim dresses and his signature scubas. Definitely a sure winner for the upcoming Spring/Summer season ladies!
Lace & Braids! Naeem Khan NYFW SS 2014
The embroidery at Naeem Khan was stellar. Between the lace, beading, and gorgeously draped silhouettes. Naeem Khan stayed true to his Indian heritage. The show's focus was all on the outfits so the hair was off the face and sleeked back with a braided accent. The majority of the looks stayed the course of classic wearable silhouettes that are very feminine . Khan used Indian design motifs and colors like deep blues and rich yellows. The collection was heavy on details, yet easy on the eyes.

Carmen Marc Valvo's SS 2014 Show
Playing with texture, Valvo paired monochrome color-blocking, graphic cut-outs, sheer mesh and black leather with elaborate embroideries. His lace took on a graphic edge, configured in round-cornered rectangles. Leave it up to celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson to steal all the shine on day two of New York Fashion Week. For Carmen Marc Valvo's Spring 2014 show, Gibson wowed us with custom black and white dip-dye wigs. Mimicking the monochromatic theme in Marc Valvo's collection. The Lead Makeup Artist for NARS Cosmetics Uzo created the look for the Carmen Marc Valvo Spring/Summer 2014 runway show.
Outfit Crush: Parker Simmons
Fashion week inspires us all to mix and match fun prints and fabrics. Parker Simmons of Everyday Runway 365 shared the deets of her amazing outfit during our Indique Atlanta Boutique Grand Opening.
"If you follow me on Instagram or were at the opening you know I chose the black and yellow with the white apples! Of course I had to pair these fun kicks with my new Kate Spade "Far from the Tree Gia" clutch. To round out the look, I rocked my ASOS "Almost Famous" tee (my full tee is no longer available, but the tank is) and a custom Lavender's Jungle tutu courtesy of Twelve 24 Boutique. My look was so Carrie Bradshaw meets Grease set in 2013, lol!
If you love my shoes or any others in the Kate Spade for Keds collection, don't sleep on them. These babies are limited edition and limited in quantity. I am already spying another pair from this group as well as an new pair I saw from their SS/14 collection. There is also a new version of my clutch coming out, too! Happy Shopping!

Nicholas K - Fashion Week
Since its beginning in 1943, New York Fashion Week is known as the event where top designers, and some emerging talents showcase their latest creations, setting the fashion tone of the season. Nicholas K, a sibling team and favorite of Fashion Week, put Native American inspired ensembles down the runway. What’s unique about this duo is their background. The two grew up next to an Apache Reserve, a sure influence in their designs. There was a focus on draping and proportion, which were perfect elements in the women's cropped leather jacket, called “Earth”. The men's looks were similarly draped, but with a bit more of a utilitarian take. The collection's defining look was a long white dress with bias-cut layers that rendered it one step above a beautiful nightgown. The hair was especially significant, as its simplicity served as the perfect complement to the clothing. Middle parts, with soft wavy and straight hair, and added random braids added to the collection’s play with texture. Model’s heads were adorned with turban-styled wraps, and bold feathers.
