Oprah celebrates a night with Ralph Lauren

Oprah hosted an evening with Ralph Lauren at the Lincoln Center this past Monday. During their conversation, Oprah asked Lauren, “You are one of the top fashion brands in the world. How do you reinvent it?” Ralph Lauren jokingly replied, “You Copy.”

One of the things that I have learned about fashion is that trends are always recycled. Designers modify and add their sense of touch to make their creations unique. Ralph Lauren has set himself apart in the fashion industry by keeping his designs classic and by living up to his brand; everyone knows the iconic polo symbol.

Camilla Belle, Wendi Murdoch, Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Lauren Bush, Naomi Watts, & Prabal Gurung, were some of the celebrities spotted at this amazing celebration.

Who are your style icons New York?

Ericka:

I love Anna Wintour. She’s had the same hairstyle FOREVER! That’s so confident and secure to me.

Gabrielle:

My style icons are Mariyln Monroe, CoCo Chanel, & Tina Turner. I thrive off of trendsetters, energy, and glamorus attitudes! All three of these ladies emcompass that!

Yannize:

Dianna Ross because I love the 70’s!

Style Survey: Boston

Who are your style icons Boston?

Krista:

“Lauren Conrad because I love how she takes simple pieces of clothing and turns them into effortless perfection! I love the simple, chic look with a twist!”

“Also, Kourtney Kardashian because I love how she tests the limits on trends with colors and prints.  I love how she can rock any outfit even if she is petite just like me!”

Kristen:

“Kim Kardashian and Nicole Sherzinger because they stay ahead of the trends and are always looking camera ready even in casual clothing.”

Christina:

“Rachel Bilson and Kate Moss. I love them both for their versatility and their cool casual style sense. They’re both masters of street style, dressed down but always looking classic and pulled together.”

RIFF Pops up in SOHO!

As I was walking to THINK, to get my daily dose of Joe, I noticed a brand new store across the street. The windows had tons of images of Steven Tyler and leopard print scarfs throughout. But to my surprise, the doors were locked! I am a sucker for animal print and denim. I can’t wait to get inside of RIFF to see what drama Tommy Hilfiger will be giving! Yes, Tommy Hilfigher has opened a pop-up shop on Bowery St. RIFF, inspired by music, will be open for three months and will sell a variety of music related merchandise and apparel.

Indique Baby!

Indique Hair will have a new mommy soon! Tracey’s friends and family surprised her today with a few baby treats. A leopard print dress from Carter’s kids, a onesie from Juicy Couture, and booties from Ralph Lauren, will be some of the items of this new baby girl’s wardrobe! Congratulations Tracey!

Fall Basics: Classic White Button Down

There’s nothing more classic and versatile for fall than a crisp white button-down. Dress it up, dress it down, take it to work and then out for drinks afterward.

Whether you are wearing it alone or as a layering piece it’s a great foundation piece for any fall look.
